Santa Monica City Streets

As I am writing this post I am currently feeling under the weather. Cozied up at home and sitting by the fire (ahh). However, I find myself reminiscing about last weekend’s shenanigans. My best friend and I took part in a long awaited girls day together and we decided to hit the city streets of Santa Monica.

This day took place on Sunday-Funday. Gen and I woke up at a decent hour… considering we went out the night before and we made breakfast and gabbed about life. After that we then decided to get ready (the fun part) and head over to the 3rd street promenade area in Santa Monica.

While I was getting dressed, I pulled out my dark, cherry colored docs as a FOR SURE accessory to strut around in for the day. Dr. Marten’s shoes carry around with them; such a style statement in themselves. Those that help set the tone for any ensemble, edgy and grunge come to mind. Now if you’ve been following along this journey with me, you know I love to mix and match style genres and make something different out of the variety.

Once I had my shoes picked out, I reached over for this red and beige striped crop top sweater. I paired my newest sweater (which is kinda Freddy Krueger inspired… not intentional) with a grey, wool, and high-waisted pencil skirt. I wanted to add at least a bit of femininity to my look to off set the seriousness of these docs.

Sweater: Macys, Skirt: Jigsaw, Jacket: tjmaxx, Shoes: Dr. Martens, Bag: Buffalo Exchange, Sunglasses: Retro Super Future

Next, I pulled out my tan rain jacket, my black based, silver studded cross-body bag, and my white framed super sunglasses and we were out the door. Get and I walked around, had lunch, and took a much needed yoga class at hot 8 yoga (I definitely recommend) that Sunday in Santa Monica and I couldn’t have been happier.

Here we are again… approaching those “weekend vibes”. Do you guys have any plans? Let me know and have a great weekend loves.

Till next time,
