Salute to Memorial Day Styling!

This past weekend we enjoyed an extra day off before the new week started to remember our fallen soldiers and enjoy Memorial Day. I spent the day with family at my cousin’s barbeque party, we drank, we ate, we played taboo (it’s been a while- ha) and I got a few style outfit shots in. It was an all-around good day.

I also raised a glass to the fact that this Monday was my first day off in week’s (THANK GOD), one of the struggles in working two jobs and being busy 7 days a week. I mean don’t get me wrong, I do feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to work a weekend job and save up where I needed to. But now I can enjoy sunny Saturday & Sunday brunches, spend time with my family & friends, and go on unfamiliar adventure hunts around the city (can’t wait!!). One chapter is ending and I feel like this summer ’16 is the start of the next one. Don’t worry though, I’ll take you all along with me and we can discover the city and what’s next to come; together!

With Memorial Day kicking off the summer season’s festivities (although it starts June 20th, oh well) I wanted to style up something temperature appropriate, fun, and feminine. I just bought this high-waisted jean skirt from sheinside which goes perfectly with my summer wardrobe; it was the first piece  to come to mind when figuring out what I wanted to wear. After the bottom half was taken care of the rest came easily, I pulled out a sweet neutral colored bralet, a mauve colored kimono, and these new blue & white espadrille wedges, which I was so lucky to have found (yes!). Lastly, I threw on a coffee colored cross body bag to top it all off  & Voila!
