Last weekend my family and I celebrated my Father’s (Dadn lol) birthday. We cleared our schedules for all of Saturday to do whatever he was up for doing and so he handed us the plan, sort of speak. We woke up around 9 am, which was great (it being my first Saturday off & all) and we decided to go for breakfast at Denny’s. We stuffed our faces with pancakes, eggs, and bacon and had a fun family talk (as per usual- ha). After that we went back home, took a little nap (much needed), & woke up to give my dad his gift. Since my dad isn’t huge on drinking but will occasionally crave a cocktail, I gave him a pack of cute little wine coolers, accompanied by some balloons and a sweet card; he was thrilled!
We’ve all been yearning for a bit more adventure and travel on our weekends lately, so when we heard about the awesome metro system that we haven’t been able to use just yet, we set a plan in motion to travel through this city (LA? Subway? What?). We purchased our tickets and prepared ourselves for a day of adventure to remember. Of course before we actually got on the subway I had to take a couple of style pictures, I mean these new Metallic, Gold, gladiator sandals HAD to be showcased, right?. As well as the beautifully expressive wall art surrounding the station (whoa!). Well, I paired this cute white floral printed dress with the gold lace-up sandals and chose to add a little color with the help of this vintage, multi-color-blocking cross body bag; I would say it was the perfect traveling outfit for the day. Lightweight and fun with an added *WOW* effect and the sandals were comfortable too!
We rode that train all the way to Downtown LA, which coming from the valley in a car is usually such a headache, but I digress. We enjoyed the ride as any typical city person would, even with all the underground smells, crowds of people, and uncomfortable seats; it’s really what gave this traveling experience more character. From downtown we transferred to the new Metro Expo Line metro, which would take us to the beach city of Santa Monica. There, we walked around in what was very windy weather (around 6pm, oh lawd) so we ended up at Wahoo’s tacos. This was the ideal way of ending such as great, adventurous day. Hauling our selves right back to where we started but with a different perspective, I for one will definitely be using these forms of transportation again. I guess LA can be easier to travel around in and using the Metro Red and Expo Lines this time has shown me that, what else is next to discover?
