Layering up for a day in the park

Just last Sunday I found myself wondering around my new city. Trying to experience ALL I could, as if I wouldn’t be here for a long, good, time. Gen and I wanted to go around Russian Hill to get some brunch. After what felt like a life threatening, first time Pilates class at Burn (legs are finally feeling normal again!). Once we headed back to our place, in one of the coldest parts of the city by the way. I was stuck when trying to figure out what I should wear. Then I remembered all of the SF bloggers I had been following. How they all mention, “Layering is your best friend”.

Well after Gen and I found a Mexican brunch spot to eat at in Russian Hill, we just walked and walked until we found a place to chill for a while. We ended up at this very little park. Gen and I sat down for a spell. We took in all of the beautiful bay scenery staring back at us. Keep in mind; during all of this gorgeousness taking our breath away, we were FREEZING!! SF is most certainly cold. When you are an LA native and accustomed to feeling some sun 360 days of the year SF is especially cold.

So thank god I brought my layers with me. “Layering up for a day in the park” saved my sanity. I wore a high-waisted, grey, wool skirt, with a basic long sleeve white top. Layering my long sleeve with a cropped, sleeveless, forest green top. I accessorized this ensemble with a pair of black lace-up flats (very comfortable for alla that walking) and a SUPER warm leather and suede black jacket. Still wanting to wear a bit of my normal brunch attire, with a little skin shown as well as being warm and prepared for the SF winds I came up with this look.

OUTFIT DETAILS: Jigsaw-London Wool Skirt // Target long-sleeve tee // Forever21 Crop-Top Tank (similar) // Tjmaxx Lace- Up Flats (similar) // Buffalo Exchange Suede & Leather Jacket // Nine-West Crossbody (similar)

To my surprise the layering trick worked. I mean, as time goes on I will get better at layering and at beating this cold weather but for so far so good.

I am trying to think of new ways to stay warm and stylish in this new climate I’m experiencing. Any recommendations I should try? Just comment below or reach out to me on any of my social media portals (instagramtwitterfacebooksnapchat) and let me know!

Well I wish you all a great rest of the week, thanks for reading as always 🙂

Till next time,

xo Shall
