Coffee, A Pair of Jeans, and Black Pumps

Hey guys! I hope you all had a memorable and relaxing weekend, I know I did. Friday night I got together with a few of my family members to catch up and bond. It was really nice. The next day, I was prepared to have some coffee while rocking a pair of my vintage Jeans.

I woke up at an unexpected early hour (ugh) by Madre OF COURSE. She had just heard about the free movie ticket giveaway  Pacific Theatres was holding and since we are all such movie buffs in our family, I knew I had no choice but to get up, head out, and watch a free movie (if the tickets were still available).

Madre and I drove down to the theater and when we got there, WOAH! The line was wrapped around the building (& it’s a big building) but we walked up to that line with hopeful intensions. I told myself and my mom I would hold out for about 20 minutes tops and then I’d be off to find some coffee, she agreed so we waited.

To my liking the 20 minute wait was not necessary; a theater associate came out and told us all it was sold out… I was sad for a minute or two but I was excited to finally be on my way to get me some coffee and chit chat.

Finally after a few trials we landed on an untouched (by me) coffee shop, in which I found via Yelp. The coffee shop was SO cute; it had a homey feeling about it and was accompanied by a lot of character!  Barclays Coffee  is what it is called, nestled in the corner of a Northridge center plaza… it was a gem and just what I had in mind for my Saturday morning coffee scene.

Madre and I hung around Barclay’s Coffee for a while as we indulged in our “Pumpkin Spice Chai” and “Peppermint Mocha” lattes. We talked about our upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas plans, as well as the updates in our everyday lives which are ever changing; we shared a few laughs and before we knew it our lattes were gone.

In this post I am wearing my “newest” pair of vintage jeans. I purchased these jeans from a thrift store (you already know!) and I was just so captivated by the loud blue jean look they were giving me. These Jeans also have a scrunchy waistband to wear them high-waisted or low (I like high-waisted better). The boyfriend cut allows for a more comfortable, roomy look with an added hem cuff to bring it all together.

I thought it would be best to pair these vintage jeans with a more body forming top to create a proportioned look, especially on my frame. Since my jeans were stealing the show I added a black and white stripped leotard under/ over them to throw some pattern contrast on the ensemble, to really bring the attention in.

I was done pairing  my clothing outfit together and all I had left to put this ensemble into motion was the accessories. I pulled out my black, point-toe pumps with a sweet bow on top. Then I reached for my grey and white, snake skin handbag to really make my look pop. It was an all-around great day with my Coffee, a Pair of Jeans, and Black Pumps.

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend; I’d love to hear all about it so comment below and let’s spark a conversation!
