Blue fur and Black leather for the winter is what I’ll be talking about in this post. Winter is the perfect time to break out your creativity when it comes to styling yourself. But there will always be those staple items everybody will rock during this chilled time of the year. Fur (Faux or not but faux preferably) and Leather will ALWAYS be commonly worn during this time and I’m no exception.
It was last Saturday morning (or shall I say early afternoon), when I decided to ensemble this outfit. My dad and I were headed to go see the new “Underworld” movie… did I tell you I am a sucker for the Vamps? Anyway, I felt this ensemble would fit the occasion nicely; although a little dressed up.
The movie setting took place in the often cold city of London and Iceland. This movie portrayed ALOT of black, a lot of black leather, and of course a variety of furs (Blizzard scenes call for Furs!). So all in all, I was dressed for my “Underworld” movie appearance–ha.
It was about two years ago that I bought this blue fur jacket from jigsaw-London. I remember; I was turning 23 at the time and I thought to myself why not treat myself to a little blue fur gem of an item. During this time I was working at Jigsaw, so you KNOW I had to get that extra needed discount. However, I would have still purchased this now favorite item at the original price. This jacket piece is a treasure; truly!
The fur is quite soft and the fit seems as if it was made for me. This jacket can be worn casually or dressed up for certain outing’s… in this post I would say I was going for more of a laid back, chic look. This jacket is very versatile and that watered down blue hue definitely adds a punch. Immediately, I went for my black leather pants to pair with this jacket. Followed by a cream knit sweater and the newest pair of lace-up point toe flats I received on Christmas. I also added a studded black cross-body bag to ensemble.
Black leather is SUCH a staple fabric and color to wear during these colder months. But black leather pants are just to die for. These pants keep me oh so warm and it doesn’t even look like I’m trying too hard to stay that way. They cuff at the bottom, which goes perfectly with lace-up flats AND they are high-waisted (I’m sold). Every piece I am wearing here has some kind of unique characteristic and when the whole outfit is put together, it’s just magic. That’s exactly how I felt last weekend… magical.
